NACOLG utilizes a unique information system that greatly enhances its
planning capabilities. The Geographic Information System (GIS) provides
state-of-the-art computerized technology that combines spatial and
attribute information to generate maps and/or reports while providing
an analysis that is specific to a particular project or area. GIS
allows the department to use a systematic approach to collecting and
managing location-based information.
The end result provides concrete evidence that can be used for future
planning and development.
